Did you have a curfew whenever you was a kid? My curfew was 8 whenever I was real young. As I became older, around the ages of 14 and 17, it was highered to around 11. My sister is twelve years old and she has to be inside at 7. I think it's because she's a girl. Did you absolutely hate having a curfew? Also, do you have kids and if so, what is their curfew and why?

I'm a Chinese .I know curfew from movies and TV plays. Curfew is the time you have to be asleep, isn't it? or be at home? Actually, we don't have curfew.when I was young we didn't play outside too late because we have no place to go, we don't have parties or sth else, just played some simple games toghter.Parents, of course, won't let be outside too late or stay up late, but there is not a specific time every day. Maybe it's boring.. I don't know... I somehow feel it's interesting...

A curfew is the time when somebody needs to be home. Thanks for your input nonetheless!

when i was still a kid i also have curfew. my curfew is a little earlier than yours. when the clock strikes at 6 o'clock in the evening i must be inside the house already or else my mom will fetch wherever i was to bring me home. sometimes i felt so embarrassed whenever my mom do this to me because i always scold me in front of my friends. so to avoid this to happen i always see to it that I'll be home before 6 o'clock. but i understand my mom for being so protective of me because i know that she was just concerned about my safety.

Well it's definitely tough to be a kid during these times. Kids getting kidnapped all the time and stuff. You hear about this kind of stuff all the time. Thanks for all the replies! Good to know that kids are going in early.

I had a curfew my children had a curfew. I didn't always like but I knew it was about my safety and not about denying my freedom. Our children need some protection wheather they see and understand it or not and a curfew did help teach responsibility and the idea of understanding and respecting other peoples feeling

I'm a girl. I had a curfew of 'dark' until I was 16. Yes, I hated it because the other kids made fun of me. They would say stuff like "better go in, the boogey man is gonna get you." I have a daughter now and yes, she has a curfew. You're right about being a girl makes it more dangerous to be out so late. Boys have it much easier as they can get to do more than girls. My daughter's only 13 so her curfew is early, but she never wants to go outside anyway, so it's not that big of a deal. When she's out with friends, she's usually with their parents, too, so it's not that big of a deal, either. I guess it depends on the situation and the child. Sometimes it's the parents. Some parents are more controlling and/or protective. Sometimes the children aren't responsible enough.

Yes I had a cerfew it was called "be in by dark" So if it was summer I was one lucky kid, In the winter it sucked...we would either stay inside and watch movies or play games or whatever our little hearts desired. I have a son now and hes 2 so he obviously cant go outside yet but when he wants to start hanging out outside with friends Im sure his curfew will be "Be in by dark" :)

yeah... got one when i was in highschool.. i have to be in at 6.. until i was college.. but when i was on my 2nd year in college i moved out and stayed on the dormitory.. so then i got my own time on my hands.. but the main reason why i got curfew was that my parents were very protective, and m their only kid... and they had found out as well that i was smoking and drinking so as much as possible they dont want me out that long.. afraid that i myt do something stupid..LOl..
