Ever heard about the word "Misa de Gallo"? Misa de Gallo is the Spanish phrase for midnight mass. Here in the Philippines we call it "Simbang Gabi". It is usually started on the 16th day of December every year around 4:00-5:00 am for 9 days. Since then simbang gabi becomes the part of Filipino culture including the "kakanin"(dainties) these are the foods that usually people eats after the mass. The most popular of those are bibingka and putobombong. Aside of those happenings one should remember that simbang gabi signifies the preparation for the birth of our savior.
