hey there mylot users! Here's what happened: A couple of weeks ago, i decided to read a book. But didn't know which one to get since there was lots of people telling me different things. Then "The Prophet" came by, and still i wasn't very motivated to read it and I was more into buying George ORWELL's "1984". What made me concentrate on those books is the fact that i had already read "The Alchemist" by Paulo COEHLO who had listed both "The Prophet" and "1984" as his favorite books.(i found out that on Paulo Coelho's fan-page on facebook!) So i said, let's give it a try! Surprisingly, i found "The Prophet" at home! it seems that my parents had it for some long time.It was the Arabic version translated from the original English version.By the way K. GIBRAN is a Lebanese writer and my parents are big fans! So i said to myself let's read this one before i buy the other! And i did began to read "The Prophet" and i finished just a couple of days ago. About "The Prophet" : Well in the beginning, i wasn't very much into the book, because it's not like a classical novel where you have the events and problems that trigger the story of the book. But later on, I discovered that it was something of more importance! It was K.GIBRAN's opinion about our life. And even more, it's like K.GIBRAN is telling us how beautiful life is and how we should live. The novel is separated into chapters. Each chapter contains K.GIBRAN's opinion on a subject. Amazingly, you'll discover that everything is related! just like "The Alchemist" : ALL THINGS ARE ONE ! And it's a small book! it contains 125 pages approx but with many spaces between paragraphs and lot's of pictures about mystical paintings. So i urge all seeking-meaning-of-life guys to read this book. You'll not regret it. And i just bought "1984" maybe i'll finish reading it during the holidays! Hope you'll enjoy "The Prophet" as much as i did. happy mylotting PS: I understand mylot doesn't let us to paste text, but can it allow us to "undo" actions? because i keep accidentally deleting everything I've written and start over!

I had this book before and I liked it. I'd like to read it again, but someone borrowed it from me and didn't return it. What's sad is I can't remember who borrowed it from me.

hey! hope u can find the book and read it! well it's about a man who's in going to travel to someplace far, as going back to his homeland, but it seems like he will die so he's saying goodbye to all the people he knew and he's passing on his precious knowledge of life at his dying moments! I personally liked the book very much. The whole idea is that the writer is explaining the true meaning of life revealed when he's about to die. So i suggest you spike12_ph to go buy yourself the book if you have to. hope you enjoy it as much as i do. happy mylotting
