Do you know durian? It is well known as the king of fruit in where i live. Have you ever taste it? Some people said it is very tasty, yummy and sweet and sometime a little bit bitter. The fruit meat soft and tender,in some cases the meat can be mushy. The meat color range from light yellow to gold in some variety it could be orange. The skin fill with a thorn like shape. Thorn in malay or indonesia called duri, since it is covered with many thorn shape they named it durian. To be able to reach the meat, a lot of effort needed. Most of the people love the taste of durian, but many cannot handle the smell. The durian scent could travel several block away and if you are inside the closed room with it then some time it cause your head to spin. People here call it, durian drunk. Durian is prohibited to enter certain places such as hotel, airplane, and also do not allow to take it into a cab. That's why most westerner call it stinky fruit or maybe king of stink. How about you? are you dare to taste it? let me know. BR

Well, I am from Malaysia, hence I know about this fruit - durian. I admit that it's really smelly, I like to eat it once in awhile, perhaps once per season. But, sometimes the smell is really stink, that I can't really tolerate after eating it. The smell doesn't just go away, no matter how you brush your teeth, gargle with salt water, but the smell just doesn't go off.

hello neighbor! I am in Singapore and Durians are also as popular here than they are there in Malaysia. They are also popular in the southern part of my home country, the Philippines. Personally, I am not very fond of this fruit. The smell is okay for me but it's the taste that I don't like so much. It has a very unusual texture and consistency :) My mom loves it though! Btw, the only durian that i like is the one in the chocolate that i bought in KL last year! That was really yummy :) haha.

Who labelled durian the "King of Fruit"??? Sadly I hate the pungent smell, it really turns me off. I have never tasted Durian fruit fresh, and I don't think I'm gonna try it...Unless someone offers me a million dollars just to eat durian! :o)
