I only IM with one friend. She lives 2000 miles away so this is how we stay connected. We have been friends for 20 years. It is so good to have the internet to keep connected with friends far away.
Do you keep connected using IM, email or someo other way?

The only person I IM is my older sister and her son. I have to ask how is on when I am talking so I do not say anything naughty.

Yes I use IM a lot. My husband is in the military as well as some of our good friends. We keep in touch through IM. I also use Myspace to keep in touch with friends.
They also have groups on there, and I am a part of a Lupus support group. And I have made wonderful friends through that group.
I am very happy to have internet access so that I can keep in touch with friends and family all over the world no matter where the Army takes us.

I think it's so nice that you can stay in touch that way. 2000 miles is a very long way!
I also stay in touch with a friend by IM. She lives in Holland (I'm in the UK), and I really enjoy our IM conversations. The only other person that I IM is my husband when he's at work! When he's bored and I'm at my computer, or if we have something to tell one another we speak by IM. It works well, and saves on phone bills!

I am a phone person. I love to hear the expression in the voices when talking. If they live in the States, I pick up the phone and call them because it doesn't raise my phone bill.
I do have a few friends from other countries and I use email and IM to keep in touch with them.
