Around 180 died in Humane society fire

Yes you read the title right. Around 180 animals that were saved from abuse and cared for by Humane society, they were killed in the fire. There is still investigation going on. I really can't imagine this as an accident or plain mistake. But I guess only investigators can be sure. It's just heartbreaking. These animals were brought there to be safe, but apparently they were still not safe. Has anything like this ever happened in your area?
