I have a son and a daughter and I am pregnant again due in Feb. I have had several ultrasounds and they still can't tell what the baby is. Well the point is that I want a baby girl because my son has ADHD and Asthma. As mothers that has sons we know that we have a special bond with our sons. I want my son to be the only boy because of his condition. So one question am I being selfish for wanting him to be the only boy.

well no i dont think you are being selfish at all in fact i have two children right now a boy and a girl my little boy is eight months old and has had a hard fight he has had two heart surgeries and a heart cath and they say that if i have anther son (which is kindda weird if you ask me) that he would have a chance to have the same problem because boys are more likely to be diagnosed with the same problem so if i was to get pregnant agian i would want it to be a girl. i would have gotten fixed but i didnt know he had anything wrong with his heart until it was time for him to get circumsized. but good luck i hope you have a beautiful baby girl if that is what you want!

I can understand what your wanting. I don't think it is being selfish if your not in real control of what you get. So whether it be a girl or boy it wasn't your decision in the end. It not like if its a boy your getting an abortion. That would be selfish. So my answer is no your just wanting something that your not in control of.

It's selfish if you're doing it for yourself. Wanting it for your son isn't selfish. But, I hope you'll be happy regardless of what it is.

Right now you are trying to be rational and thinking of your sons needs. Whether you have a boy or a girl, you will be thrilled as long as the baby is healthy. I wouldn't stress over it. I have 4 children and have special bonds with all of them. You will find out that as they get older you create special bonds with each of your children too, boys and girls.

Yeah, but it is not You who makes the final decision...It is NATURE. You can only hope, and hopes are not selfish, I think.
