It is ot easy for us this days to respect time, to be patient, cause we are led to believe that we can transcent time, that we can find instant wisdom, instant maturity. But if we look at the rest of God's creation, we notice that there are things that can't be change instantly. Like a great ocean tides that can't be hurried, the rose and the blade of grass know when to come fourth, rivers flow at their own pace. You cannot hasten the dawn, or hold back the sunset, we cannot change the seasons. Thus we must admit that what is true of nature is true of us. We are pilgrims and wayfarers in time's current. We cannot rush it. The seasons of our lives cannot be manipulated. The seasons of our hearts needs time and careful tending. All this is true of pstience. It does not bring immediate answer to problems, nor instant comfort. patience grows quietly in our hearts because it is God's gift, and it unfolds in the end, as we try. Thus, the Art of Patience does come within us and we have to cultivate it! When things go crazy, and we feel too eager, all we have to do is pray, keep our mouth closed and our ears and hearts open, then wait. We need to have the courage to let go of all the illusory props and forms of eagerness. A pained acceptance of something which we cannot comprehend, for which there seems no reason except that God has willed it so, not determined it, but allowed it. For Thee, wants us to learn, from our own phase of decisions, from our own failures. Then after the long wait, in God's own good time we realize that the art of patience, as it sound annoying and boring, is what it takes to experience the sweetness of our prayers; prayers that has been answered on its right time.
