A simple question for a simple discussion. What do you use PhotoShop for? Editing pictures that didn't come out okay (red eyes, to dark etc.) For the making of so called board sig's and avy's. Something else?

I used to use my Photoshop Elements version for making lots of things: -Signatures -Avatars -Coloring B/W pictures -Annoying Backgrounds which change colors 10 times a second to annoy people at Lan parties..... -etc.. But now it doesnt work with vista :/ I changed to GIMP now

GIMP is a little harder to master at first, but once you get used to it, it's basically the same as PS.

I mainly use it to keep up with the changes from version to version so I can help out with editing problems: for serious work I prefer PaintShopPro.

I use Photoshop CS4 for fun mainly, just to mess around and modify pictures. I can professionally edit/fix/restore photographs so I sometimes do that for my friend. Photoshop is such a powerful tool, the things you can do are endless!

For many reasons.. 1) Fixing photographs and pictures which are too bright/dark or have objects or artifacts that I want removed or edited 2) To learn so I can better my photoshop skills 3) For fun... it's often great fun to mess around in Photoshop and make realistic looking fake pictures
