We don't use the old camera at all. We now usually use the digicam. It's more better and portable. It's more easy to use.

I too use digital camera more often but there are instances that I also use film camera. For instance, I don't want to risk my digital camera underwater, though there are digital cameras that can go underwater without destroying it, I just use a regular film camera underwater, with its casing intact. This way, I wouldn't be worrying whether the camera's ok underwater, for several feet.

If you are referring to the cost of usage and convenience, a digital camera is still having the edge over traditional film camera. Film camera (SLR) has its strength. The colour reprodution is still better than what the CMOS of an average DSLR can produce. Half shutter techniques and black & white photography makes the out put miles apart. It is still good to practise using file camera first to lay the foundation of photography skills.

I have a digital camera as well as an old camera (film camera) and I haven't used the old camera for a while. I like using the digital camera, it's fun and I enjoy editing my photos afterwards. The good thing about the film camera is that the photos don't disappear. Some time ago my computer broke down and the back-up didn't work, either. Most of my digital photos are gone, so I am very happy that I have a lot of photos from my old camera. I plan on using the old camera when I go on an trip to another country, but when I take other kinds of photos for instanse urban exploration I prefer to use my digital camara.
