I think in my opinion, fps have a stronger effect on horror games such as fear and dead space would be scarier if it was in a fps pov.

I think it depends on the type of game. I remember playing Resident Evil 4 and I rembemr the first time playing it, I felt paranoid. The atmosphere for the game is really good. I've played some of the other RE's and they don't feel as paranoid as Re4. I hear Silent Hill has a really disturbing atmosphere, but I haven't played it.

I think FPS games are much more scarrier than TPS games as the horror scenes occur much close than in TPS games. The camera is at eye-level which also adds to the horror.

it all depends on the game. a game can be equally scary if it is in 3rd person as well. and wasn't FEAR an fps?

Yes fps is scarier because you look through the eyes, and you can't see what 's behind you.
