My friend actually ran over her own dog... horrible story and she is very upset, but now she's confused about what to do. She hit the dog 2 weeks ago... At first she thought he would have to be put down becuase it appeared his rearend was broken... over the past couple weeks he has made an incredible comeback - it appears now only his tail is broken. Until yesterday... she called me to come look at him because his bowel is actually protruding out of his back-end. It looks like he 'pushed' it out. Now, I'm no expert... but I'm a farm girl and I know that sometimes after giving birth, cows have to have 'some things' shoved back in... Do you think the remedy is to actually have the bowel pushed back it???? Could it be that simple??? I know this is kind of a gross subject... it's just odd how the dog seems perfectly fine and happy and well... with the exception of this one weird problem.

I would ask my friend to consult a vet. Despite being knowledgeable about dogs I would not be able to know how to solve such problem. I do think that it is a matter for a professional to tackle this issue.

Would I be right to assume that your friend can't take her dog to the vet? It sounds like the dog might have been run over in the stomach area or someone along the digestive tract. I'm not sure about the "pushing back in" part. If the dog seems to be fine otherwise, and she absolutely can't take the dog to the vet, I'd say look into reasearching what she can feed the dog that is extremely easy to digest, in order to reduce some of the stress on the digestive tract. If the dog seems to be suffering and can't be saved, then unfortunately, the most humane thing to do might be to put it down. I hope things turn out okay. take care
