Should I contact Oprah about seeing if a book might be able to become a movie?

Some of my friends and I were tking about books and movies just recently and I mentioned there is one book I love and the author is just amazing....and I mentioned I am surprised ti was never made into a movie. So I got to thinking how would you go about communicating with the author or whomever about making it into a movie? My friend suggested write to Oprah and suggest it to her...because she knows the author well and you know she has that book club and all. And I might do this because this is now something that stays in my mind throughout the day. What would you do?
