My younger son lost his cell phone temporarily

We just got home from my blood test, when I got a call from a man from a gas station about as lost cell phone. Now I was sure I had my cell phone still in my purse so I checked it and it was still there. Then I learned that my younger son had left his cell phone at the gas station and the attendant phoned the first name on the list that was our number. So we called my son's fiance and now they have already picked up the cell phone. So it is a good thing that the attendant was honest and that our number was listed. So have you ever misplaced your cell phone, and had some nice stranger call and say they have found it?

I'm glad to hear that we still have some honest people out there... I do remember one time when I belonged to a health club, when I was changing in a locker room, my cell phone & my wallet fell out of my pocket & I didn't realize it... When I came out of the health club, it was near the mall, I went to go get something to eat & that's when I realized I didn't have my wallet & the phone with me... I looked all over my car thinking it fell out when I was either getting in or out of it... Finally I went back to the health club & the person at the front desk asked me few personal questions, birthday & address & few phone numbers to people I knew, then gave them back to me... I wanted to know who turned them in so I could thank the person but he said the guy who found it never left his name...

He sounds like a nice person. I think that there are more honest people in the world than we believe there are and you just got your cell phone and wallet returned by one of those honest people.

So am I. I have never had any trouble if I lost something like leaving my credit card at the ATm slot inside the bank, but this was outside in a gas station and anyone could have picked it up and used the phone. So it was a relief that the guy did call us.

Its nice to hear that there are nice people because less people would do that. I have lost three cells so far and i never got any of them. The gas station attendant will be a very honest man and people should be like him, once i got a cheap phone on the road and after sometime a lady called me asking me who are you and calling me by rude names before i could say anything, i told her that i found the phone lying on the road so i picked it up and was about to call someone from the phonebook but before i did that you called me. She was so rude that i don't want to return the phone to her in person so i kept the phone in a shop and i asked her to collect it from there.

My son goes to that service station every time, so the attendant knows him, and it was lucky he had our phone number on it. Yes, the gas station attendant was very nice.

Yes and also call the cell phone company at once so they can cancel our number and not let the thief profit by making long winded phone calls.

Happy to hear that the mobile holder got his mobile back. There are a very few honest persons who return back a lost mobile phone.A few years back I lost my cellphone too but I think it went in wrong hands as the person who reeieved my cell closed my mobile and never opened it back.

Never have lots the phone, but for sure have held phones for people because they lost them when I used to work at a supermarket. We had a few people leave them & then come back. I have had to take phones before when I did student teaching. Students aren't supposed to use phones in class, right? I know my phone number by heart so I will call it if I ever lost it. And I have a block on my phone if it ever gets stolen so that's nice. Take care. Pablo

You were lucky. A couple years ago my son and his friends had lunch at the little bar (small town local owned 2 blocks away)up the road. I had tried to call him and some guy answered the phone. I asked him who he was and he would not say. I told him that the phone he was on was lost and was not his. He told me it was his. Right about then my son walked into that bar and saw the guy on the phone walked over and took it. (14 year olds are tough when you have either their cell phone or their food). Turned out it was the bartender I was talking to. I then called the bar owner and got that guy in trouble. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

My nephew had lost his phone at Wendy's. The manager called my sister, and went and picked it up. We were lucky because he had a very expensive phone.

My younger son is always losing things, so when the gas station attendant called and said someone had lost his cell phone, that it had to be him. I guess it is a benefit for us women having purses. My phone is expensive and I would hate to lose it. No, it is not an iphone.

I have lost my cell phone once, in some degree, it is not real lost. That is once when I taking the bus home, because the bus need some more gas, so we just stop at the gas station, I went to the bathroom whth my friend, when I walked back the bus I found my cell phone was disappear, we try to find it in the place where we just walking, but we didn't find it. I felt sad at that time, because it was a new one. Fortunately when we back the bus, in my seat, I found my cell phone lying there, I was very happy when I saw it.

That must have been a relief. My son is losing things. We were at their place on New Years eve and his fiance told us that she knows all about his losing things now. Being forewarned etc.
