So i just watched the dark knight and than i went back and watched the first batman movie, just kind of to compare jokers. Well which one do you like? I like the plot of the Dark Knight but i am not sure which joker i like better. I'd say Ledger is more realistic but Nicholson presents a more gruesome villain. What do you think?

i think you are right, ledger is more realistic. i happen to like him better simply because he didn't portray joker as some kind of a joke then again, doesn't that depart a bit from the original joker? i grew up with the animated series and joker there wasn't like ledger's joker then again, ledger's portrayal is what you would expect from someone who had a terrible secret tortured past

I totally agree, Nicholson's role as the joker in 1989 brings back memories of the cartoon series but after taking psychology 201 i find that Ledgers interpretation seems more accurate.

Batman was the film that got me into reading the Batman comic books so it will always be one of my favorite movies, but when BatmanBegins and The Dark Knight came along it was like i'm watching how I imagined Batman would be while reading the comics. The Dark Knight has become my all time favorite movie. As for the Joker, Heath Ledger's portrayal was the best. He brought the Comic Book Joker to life. When I first heard that he was playing the part I had my doubts but while I was watching him on the big screen there was no trace of Heath Ledger on the screen it was just THE Joker.

Heath Ledger (RIP) presented the Joker truer to the comic book more than Jack Nicholson did. True, Jack Nicholson did present a more gruesome villain, but Heath Ledger made the comic book joker come to life. Now, hopefully in the next movie, they bring Harley Quinn into the picture lol.
