A Homemade Gift

I guess everyone is getting on the homemade gifts bandwagon this year. It seems to be a growing trend to make or bake something and gift it to friends and relatives instead of store bought presents. I'm imagining teens and tweens opening packages covered with homemade wrapping paper, and revealing knit sweaters lovingly made by a well meaning aunt ( mom, grandmother or whomever). What they really were expecting might be some electronic gadget, game or accessory that is far removed from anything knit or homemade. How disappointed will they be? Just wondering .......

I have made my own hand made cards for years with rubber stamps, glitter, and paper toled and now the computer and i think people really appreciate things when they are hand made, some of the people have kept my cards for many years, I know one lady loved my cards so much she brings them out every year....I think people do like hand made things, there is much more thought put into it.

I love homemade cards, specially it someone takes the time and effort to make them glitter. I LOVE glitter. I also keep cards year after year - they're all precious to me.

I love homemade gifts, and they are more precious to me than gifts bought in a store, but I haven't always felt that way. When I was a child I received many homemade gifts from my grandmother, she is very good at knitting and she has always made many gifts for her family. I used to get so disappointed when I received a pair of homemade socks instead of a toy, but now (twenty years later) I really appreciate her homemade gifts.
