Isn't life strange sometimes?

You save money to buy some you REALLY want. Say.. your first car. THEN, down the road, you get a flat tire, or it needs major repairs when it's inspected, etc. Sometimes I wonder what's the sense in saving up for something that is going to cost you even more money in the long run anyway? This example could be applied to almost anything. Your first home purchase.. you have utility bills, and costly home repairs. What do you think?

It's life....you just take it as it comes and deal with the situations as best you can. Everything comes with some kind of consequence or reaction, good or bad. It's all what we do with it. The situation you mentioned about the car, reminds me of my teenage son. He wanted to buy his 1st car so bad, that instead of saving a little longer til he got out of HS and getting a brand new car, he bought an older car that seemed okay at first. Like you said, all of a sudden you need to replace a gasket and tube here, brakes, change the oil or air filters, shocks, etc. etc. He was frustrated, but hey....do you want the car or what? That's just part of the whole package.

Thanks for the reponse. I posed this question on my husband and his only reponse was "that's how people stay in business". I guess that's kind of true.
