I think during the day lot of people especially after the meal feel tired and sleepy. In the case of free time short nap looks like a good idea to gain some more energy for the rest of the day. But sometimes after the nap you can feel really terrible, it is hard to describe the particular feeling. For me it is like I am half awake and half sleep for some time after the nap, I really hate that. This feeling occurs just rarely for me and usually after the nap was longer, for about hour or so. If I sleep for 10-20 minutes I feel really great full of energy and rested. So what about you, how do you feel after nap? And do you take it during the day? Happy myLotting and still Marry Christmas!

I usually feel more tired after I have a nap then before I took it! LOL Naps have the same affect on my husband as well. Though it probably has something to do with the fact that when we do nap it is usually for an hour or more. I've heard that short cat naps (10-20 minutes) are supposed to be refreshing and I guess it is true, at least in your case. I haven't had a nap in a while, but I usually get 6-8 hours of sleep a night anyway, so I'm good...I think! LOL

Grumpy, worthless and hungry. I'd rather stay up and not feel so bad. Somethings I think something is wrong with me.

Since I only have a little time sleeping coz I have to sleep very late and get up early, I always feel sleepy during afternoon, and when my son is watching at that time, I do stay beside him then I could just feel that Im very sleepy, then I take a nap, sometimes it takes 1-2 hours for me to sleep, but I feel that it's not yet enough, but Im still grateful for having rested at those times and when Im already awake, I feel energized :)

well,as for me, a nap after the meal at noon seems neccessary and makes me refresh and being energetic to continue working effectively in the afternoon.because it happens to me sometimes that when i am stuck by jobs or something else and cannot get a nap, i feel torribly drowsy in the following time a whole day. besides, personally my optimum time is about fifity minutes to an hour and therefore i am used to sleeping for one hour every day in the noon. merry chrismas and happy mylotting, too.

Get a nap in the afternoon is necessary! For the reason that some of people only have one hour to eat their lunch and rest in the middle of a day. The other time they have to work without rest provided by the company. Just like me! If a boss is intelligent and nice, he should give his staffs a period to free! And then all staffs will appreciate him, it is helpful to work!

Hi dieorfly, after having the afternoon meal I always feel tired and sleepy, especially during the hot sunny day. So I always try not to have long journey drive after finishing lunch. I did experience this before and found that it’s really difficult to concentrate on driving when feeling drowsy. I took a pause at the rest area by the side of the highway and washed my face and neck with cold water. After taking a cup of hot aromatic coffee, I felt very much better and could continue my journey again. I always grab opportunity to enjoy a sweet nap after lunch. It’s really great to enjoy a siesta of 20 minutes or so after lunch, to get myself refreshed and energetic again during the rest of the day. I always feel tired and lazy if I don’t take a proper nap after having afternoon meal. posting and Merry Christmas!

Hi there dieorfly! Oftentimes, I feel good after at least 20 minutes of nap. Less than that, I would be a little cranky. If I sleep after lunch for more than an hour, I will surely feel lazy the rest of the afternoon. That is why I always make sure that I take a nap only for a while. You know, at least to keep me re-energized... For the past few weeks, I rarely take a nap though...

it really depends.. at times after my short nap, i'd feel refreshed and all geared up for anything that comes my way. however, at times, after a short nap.... i just want to continue sleeping & felt as if i had just went without sleep for 3 days and 3 nights.

In the winter time when the days are short I rarely take a nap, the sun starts going down around 5 o'clock and I have things to do while I have the daylight. Now during the summer when the days are long I will take a nap and it gives me a little more energy to finish the things that I have started or was going to do.

For most people they claim a power nap of about 20 minutes does them best. An hour for them is too long. I however have a condition that I need sleep, sleep is my medicine and 20 minutes just makes me feel worse. I need an hour or and hour and a half and I am good to go again for a couple of hours or so. Apparently studies have shown that if everyone took a 20 minute power nap after lunch or in the middle of the afternoon, productivity would increase, but that goes against everything management believes in.
