Being in the Southern Hemisphere, New Zealand enjoys a different cycle of seasons. What would be a good time of year to visit? If one has about 2 to 3 weeks of vacation time, what can one plan?

New Zealand is my third favorite country that I have been to. It has so many out of doors sights that I suggest that you go in the summer time in December, January or February. Then it would be sunny and warm. It might be fine in the spring in September, October or November. It might be pleasant in the autumn in March, April or May. I would avoid the winter in June, July or August. Even on a dull day if there is just a bit of warm sunshine sunburn is possible. It is sensible to wear sun cream there in summer, spring or autumn. I went to New Zealand for the summer months and the weather was sunny and warm. On Christmas Day I swam with dolphins at the Bay of Islands. For New Year's Eve I went to the 90 mile beach and on New Year's day I went to historic Kerikeri. If I was to plan another trip there January or February would be perfect. I hope that you will have an excellent time in lovely New Zealand.

These travel tips were great! Can you recommend an itinerary? Should one spend more time among the Sounds?
