do you keep old love letters from before your current relationship?

I do :D Not because I like them and feel flattered or anything. It's because I'm still friends with most of those stupid guys and I like making fun of them with my girlfriends. My girlfriends also like reading the letters to reminisce how stupid high school life was.

I'm not friends with most of my exes anymore but i still keep their letters. They're safe in my Orocan cabinet. lol! I got pictures, letters, gifts, etc. I still have them all. I even have the receipt of our first date. It's in my wallet. I have one of my exe's driver's license. Mine wasn't from high school so it kind of hurt me whenever i read them all over again because you know, i've been vocal here about how i was cheated by my ex.

to have the receipt in your wallet of your first date with an "ex" ... is kind of a turn off, I think :P just sharing my opinion, and hoping not to sound rude.

Turn off in what way? If you've read between the lines, the date of the first date is there. What you ate is there and it will remind you of where it's located and how it went. For the record, my girlfriend was happy about it and to some people who knew about it. It's definitely not about the cost, if that's what's on your mind.

the thought that you're holding on to that memory is good. But if she's an "ex" then if you meet another girl, then that other girl will be turned off that you're holding onto *that* memory, because it would mean that you're not ready to move on. There was a time that I wanted to force my boyfriend to get rid of a certain high-school-friends-group pic because his puppy love was in there. Instead I gave him the time and eventually he took it out of his wallet. But I still so would have liked it if it wasn't there in the first place. It made me feel awkward and a little "out of place" because I was right there with him, yet there's a hint of his "past" that he seems to be holding on to.
