is music necessary or just waste of time?

I would prefer the former as i am basically a musician and a music lover. I have a short story to say . I was totally depressed due to my fallback in my studies . I was totally frustrated .I suppose it was during my 8th standard i sarted listening to music continuously for hours together. It relieved me of all my sorrows and i started beginning my new life from that time . I went for music classes to learn this fantastic art. Thousands of roses blossomed in my heart and filled my heart with joy and happiness.My mind got clear .I started doing well in my exams and my parents too became happy seeing my academic performance. I understood that music is the most important thing that everyone must learn . Or even if you dont learn it , just listen to it for atleast half an hour every day in your busy schedule to forget all your sorrows , lessen your angry and make you mind calm.
