Chicago has a bad reputation for corruption in politics. This dates back to the time of Al Capone. My question is With the scandal of the Governor of Illinois trying to sell the vacant senate seat, does anyone think that President Elect Obama had any prior knowledge to this action?

That same thought has crossed my mind also. I would hope that Obama had no prior knowledge of the Governor's actions. I can look at this from one of a few points of views. 1) Anyone that lives in Illinois knows the history of the politics there, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they agree or take part in it. Obama seems like a straight and narrow person and thinker. More people believed in the man than in this election than anyone has in any other election. The number of voters proved that. 2) Because Obama is the first Afro-American President and there are still many that didn't see the need for that much of a change and that may feel that McCain was the better man, are going to start with the smear campaign. As of now Obama will be taking the Office with the issues of Israel going on. So, basically it's gong to be "let's see how he handles this coming at him at once." This is just how I see it. DCMerkle
