Going away for New Year?

December 29, 2008 8:07am CST
I wish I could afford to go away for New Year - some friends of mine have gone from the UK to Australia for the Christmas and New Yera so they are very lucky!! I wish I could afford to go somewhere either really warm like the Caribbean or completely snowy such as Lapland as where I am it is just cold and rainy so it doesn't feel like the Christmas season!!! Anyone going anywhere for new year and why did you choose to go there?

I am not to go anywhere for the new year, because in this period i'm studyng quite hard for two test on 14th, January and an examination in February... I study three languages at university and I have to practice all days, in order not to forget .. the last year I left on February.. this year, I don't think I'll be able, because of that examination... I can't decide now... maybe i'll decide at the last minute.. I would like to come back to asia as soon as possible.. I really enjoyed my holidays there, in particular to China and Nepal.. I went to Lapland, but it wasn't snowy or rainy at all... I went there some years ago on August... but there wasn't the climate that people generally suppose. I advise you to go to Lapland because it has been one of the best holiday I did in my life... also caribbean are great... are paradisiac beaches... if you see them, you'll never forget something like this..

I want to stay at home on New Year's Eve because I know airfares are sky high at this time of the year. I have spent two Christmas and New Year times abroad and for those I traveled in February around the world and in November to New Zealand. I had Christmas Day on on a palm fringed beach and New Year partying in Cairns when I was 21 years old. I went snorkeling with wild dolphins on Christmas Day and up the 90 Mile Beach when I was 30 years old. I am going to Cape Town for two weeks in mid January. Yes, the airfares then are reasonable, considering the distance. I am going there because it is one of the places on my travel wish list suitable for my toddler son. In the summer of 2010 I hope to go to Canada and have Canada Day in Canada and my birthday in the USA. I hope that you will go on a lovely trip one day soon my friend Frankiecesca. Good luck.

If money was no object then I suppose the cost of airfare would be insignificant! Maybe when I win the lottery! lol : )

I'm not going anywhere for New Year. It's been strange weather here a few days after Christmas it was 65 outside and today it is 30. It really hasn't felt like anything here since our weather is wacky lol I would probably go West if we were able to go either Neveda or California, depending on if we were looking for snow or sun lol
