Are You A Pessimist or Optimist

How many people do you know who say, about themselves that they can't do something or that in terms of something positive, that it will never happen to them? And do you notice, that for those people, they atract exactly what they express for themselves? On the other hand, how many people do you know that say that they can do something or that they wish for the best for themselves, their loved ones, or that some day they will achieve what they have set out to do and then they actually do? I am an optimist, my glass is half full. I believe that we can attract good things into our lives simply by believing we can. Foreseeing positive outcomes and succeeding. How about you? Are you a pessimist or an optimist? Is you glass half empty or half full? What are your achievements? What are your failures?

Hello EvrWonder just like you i am an optimist. I always believe that it is a mirror effect what you let out will be the thing that will go back to you. So if you believe for the good and things that are good this will really happen. I would always choose the half full water. I have a lot of achievements and failures but these failures are not there to stop us from achieve our goals in life and in doing good.

I agree and thank you for your response. I believe what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Our failures make us learn more in order to do better. Not make the same mistakes over and over. Like does attract like. Be it good or bad. Thanks again and Best to You in 2009!

I can't argue with you my friend that is true mistakes do happen for us to learn from it and by not so doing it again. Mistakes will keep on happening unless we learn from it. Thanks for the comment.

No worries bunnybon; This has happened to me before too. I find that we must search a little more, trying different words in our search. Sometimes we just don't get back anything relevant, I know. No worries. Have a Nice Week End and thank you for your response!

I am neither, I am rather a practical person who knows my own limitations and try my best to work within them. Sometimes the glass is half full and at other times the glass is half empty. When its half full, I try to take advantage of that situation to improve my condition and stay one step ahead in preparation for bad days. And when its half empty, I search out ways on how to make it as full as possible.

Nice. I agree that if we do not forge ahead full force, that we may regret it later. We can never beat ourselves up later if we know we gave our very best. It is nice to sleep well at night. Not everyone has a conscience. Obviously you do. It seems most whose glass is half full do. What do you think? Well keep on Keeping on and all the BEst to you here at MyLot and for 2009!

Hi There! To be honest, I am both. I am a pessimist and optimist. Lolz… sometimes I can’t help it but get down and think that I can never do it but most of the time, I am an optimist… I like to think that I can do everything and will do it no matter what… so I am both… l Goodluck! Thanks for the discussion! Happy New Year and Happy HOlidays! Cheers!

I'm an optimist because even in hard times, I think positive because opportunities always float around. When I was almost broke, I went to the nearest internet cafe to share their internet connection per hour. Then after a month, my stomach is always full thanks to the internet.

I am doing my best to be an optimist. Being a pessimist makes you depressed sometimes. I want to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Good response and I agree. Probably the main reason is this, for why I see my glass as half full. Thank you for your response.

Dont know. I guess I am a mixture of both. But I want to be an optimist. The reason is simple. I want to be liked. a pessist is unsocial most of the time. But at times being pessimist helps in taking calculated risks.

Interesting. I never thought of a pessimist as an unsocial sort. I suppose they may be. A good reason to want to be an optimist. I think it is okay to be a bit of both, a pessimist and an optimist, why not, right? I think that being a pessimist helps in taking calculated risks for sure. Thank you for your response. I appreciate that you stopped by!

I am an optimist, my glass is half full. I believe that we can attract good things into our lives simply by believing we can. Foreseeing positive outcomes and succeeding. How about you? Are you a pessimist or an optimist? Is you glass half empty or half full? I say the glass is just too darn big! I'm not either.. I'm a realist. I see the glass for what it is, and what it is capable of and no more than that. I don't pretend that it could be more or less than what I see or feel it can be. My achievements are few... and it would take all night to list my failures.. so let's just say I'm a realist!

I think i'm a determined optimist. I try my hardest to see the glass half full. But i do have my doubts sometimes. I find when i think positively my outcomes are usually postive and what i wanted. Though I wonder if you could be a pestimist and optimist at the time in a situation it would probably be a rare situaion though? Do you think you can be both?

I think we all have occasional doubts at the best of times. Sure I think that we can be an optimist and a pessimist at the same time. I think we can call that unsure. It may not be as rare of a situation as we think.. Thank you kindly for your response. I appreciate that you have stopped by. Cheers.

I always seem to go through phases. I used to be an optimist then my circumstances change and for about 6 months I went into this pessimist phase, and now for the last little while I'm back to being an optimist. hahaha. It's funny how it works, as much as you try to stay positive sometimes you just go through phases where nothing goes your way and suddenly the world is out to get you.

Hmmm....I'm a "circumstances based" optimist! Yeah - I know - that's as deliberately ironic as saying "I'll believe it when I see it" in response to a question on faith... lol Anyway - I'm unfortunely a rather anxious "half empty" sorta person. Tenacious, yes. But I just can never "see the ball going into the hole" so to speak. I see everything *but* that! I'm still trying, though. -stan

I am more a optimist rather than a pessimist. Sometimes I am so optimistic that my mom would say me as a person has a thick skin, as I always feel relaxed even if I am facing the deadlines.

i can say that i'm an optimist most of the time. but everytime i think of the glass -half empty or half full, i'd always say half empty. Because i see myself far away from where i want to be.

Hm, interesting. I can understand then why you may see your glass as half empty. Breaking up a long term goal into smaller bits is sometimes more fulfilling when achieving as well as seemingly easier to tackle. thank you for your response. I wish you the very best in 2009 and always. Cheers.

I prefer to be the optimist and try to be as optimistic as possible when things are going wrong or right for that matter I used to be rather pessimistic but a number of situations have proved to me that it helps to be optimistic as you can manage the situations better that way

my glass is both half full and half empty i always expect the worst but hope for the best, that way when i do fail its not such a let down, but when i do succeed its very welcomed.

I am normally optimistic. Let's keep happy, and influence people with a positive imput. That need not be something grand. Just from a smiling face, some encouraging words to colleagues, a greeting call to friends you appreciate, some time to play with your kids, a big hug for your beloved... Start doing something to present your goodwill, and you might be surprised to receive feedback doubled.
