what is a hipster

What exactly qualifies someone to be categorized as a 'hipster'? I hear this term used all the time and I'm not 100% clear on its meaning. What are they like? How do they dress? etc.

hi geniouslea...there are 100 definitions. it can very in different countries. generally someone in their 20's with unique hair, music, and style.

sure genious...in the US in the 2000's a hipster is a young adult well educated in the middle to upper class. they are leftist of liberal in their social and political interests. they wear non-mainstream fashion.
