When I try to copy and paste something in mylot, its objected, Why?

When I tried to paste some text on to mylot, from my Microsoft Word document, i got a warning. That warning said that i cannot paste any text here in mylot, if my rating is less than 500.
What is this rating of 500, and how can i achieve it?? And also, i was not trying to paste any copywrighted material or something, but it was my own written text, which i was trying to paste from the Microsoft word document I made in my computer.

that is not possible. you can only do the copying and pasting pf the things you have written when you already have 500 post in the site. hope this helps you. have a nice day and welcome to mylot.

OMG? It's not like I killed anyone. Get a grip. I'm just explaining how to get around a minor annoyance. I've already explained that I don't use and don't condone it for cheating.
What if you want to paste a link? You can't
What if you want to paste a character (such as a foreign or otherwise special character) that you can't type on your keyboard? You can't
What happens if you've typed a big post, your wireless connection has dropped mid page load and your screen is white? Hit reload and risk double posting? or hit back and type the whole thing all over again? What if you're half way through a post and you want to go back to the discussion to read something?
A smart system detects spam by monitoring content, not by locking out paste functionality.

first of all you seem to be a newbie,so,welcome to mylot...
the number beside your name that should atleat 500 to enable a copy paste option.
you can get it by responding to as many disscussions as you can and make that number greater than 500,also when you ask a question try to comment on the responses you get..then you can get to 500 soon.

You cannot copy and paste until you have posted 500 posts. That a privilege only to those who have been patient to post several discussions or responses. I myself is still far from 500 post. Just work hard on it then you will be able to copy and paste. Please review the rules then you will understand it better.

it'd be possible for you to copy and paste when you hit 500 posts.
i guess this is to stop spamming or somthing.. no too sure myself.
i too found it quite troublesome initially.. when i just wanted to share an article and had to re-type the URL link.
Just work hard to get that 500 posts and you'd be able to copy and paste =)

I have also faced this problem. The copy paste feature often comes in handy, but then I suppose, I have no choice till I reach that mark of 500.

I understand that you are not copying any copyrighted material but it is mylot policy. As of now you are 28 post, you can see that beside your name and avatar. When you reach the 500 post, that's the time you can use copy and pasting. Mylot has implemented that policy as to avoid spammers who copies other discussion and comments here on mylot. This way they can protect their members rights. I know it is annoying when you keep writing and lost it when something wrongs in submitting but just be patience in dealing with it. I know you will get used to it.

The rating 500 is when you reach 500 posts. The best way to achieve this is to post, post, post! But just remember for the posts to be of quality, and not post just to post, otherwise you may lose points instead of gain them.
Don't give up! You'll reach 500 posts before you know it! Then you'll be able to use the copy and paste feature on here. Good luck!

You cannot use the copy-paste feature unless you made at least 500 posts. That's one way of preventing spammers on myLot. Better type your discussions directly in myLot for the meantime.

i too had this problem.you must type more than 500 reponses to copy and paste any thing.you can also use mylot codes when you reach 500 responses....i am trying to reach 500 but its a big job...happy new year and may this new bring you good fortunes ..have a nice day ya

if put u r disscussion in cut and paste format what is the value of u r disscussion and how others will follow u r details fullfilled in that column.

Your participation has to reach 500 either as discussions you have started or responded to. It can be either, only the number beside your name should reach 500 for you to copy and paste.

Oh thats just because you have to post 500 comments and then start pasting. It is to stop spam, and it does get really frustating when you have to type the text by yourself, and the idea of posting 500 comments just seems impossible for you to cover in a month or so, but till then we'll just have to settle for typing the text all by ourselves,(only for users who just recently started out and didn't even post a hundred comments till now)
