well as a parent myself, I want my kids to have the best education. However I would not want to force them to be what I want them to be. So what i will do is to find out their interest before telling them what to do. Get them to understand what they want in life before proceeding to further education. Once I know what they like most and their decision to further pursuit their dream, I'll then encourage them in choosing the right field of education. My dad have never force me to study what he wants, but allow me to choose and I find it much more enjoying when you learn from interest.

i would probably help them decide but never straightforwardly tell them what to take or study, whatever they like that is what i will support.

I agree with you. And I will suggest pharmacy as their preparatory course!

I will speak from my own experience. I watched the child's interest, aptitude and the child ability. It is on that basis that I would recommend the field of education. There are a number of areas that can be studied and the career path seems sustainable, these are in forenic science, various area in medicine, the service indutry, Motivational Speaker to name a few. These areas allow you to practise the craft even if you are laid off from the conventional work place.
