I have read all 6 books. My brother was the one who recommended it to me. I was fascinated with how a 12-year old kid can have a very devious mind! For me, Artemis will always be a child. I even wonder where Eoin Colfer gets his ideas. The fairies and a first class criminal mastermind - nice pair! I recommend these books for people who likes to read about fantasy with science fiction.

I've read most of the Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer. I enjoy the books, and I like Artermis' character. Such a wicked, bright boy. Artemis Fowl books are more like fantasy/sci-fi/adventure with plenty of technical terms. It usually has very complicated plots, plenty of action, a few moral dilemmas, and great characterizations. However, I would never think of them as something comedic or funny. So if you are looking for something light or something to tickle your funny bone, you might want to try something else.
