What is the best discovery/invention in the past twenty years ?

hey abhi How are ya doing ? I am a science student so all the discoveries & inventions keep on fascinating my inquisitiveness all the time. As for the best response, I view the human genome project as the best discovery in the past two decades. As per the project, we now know what genes make up the human race. So in future it would hopefully be possible to manipulate them to keep us healthy & hearty. Long live humanity. Have a happy time in mylot.

Oh there are so many, very hard to choose one.. But let me make a list and hope I hit the best.. In no particular order: Aeroponics - growing plants in thin air, on earth in space or on the Moon! PF-Tek- growing mushrooms on top of your computer, fridge, wherever there is warmth coming out of electronics, amazing [b]Powered Armor[b] - not really out in the field yet, but the US people have it, the Japanese have it, only a matter of time before it gets put to use all over, and when your great grand-children are bouncing on the martian atmosphere in one, they will think of the first models made a few years ago :D hmm.. last 20 years is a very short time... [b]Youtube[b] and other collaborative things, networks, the new ways of getting together [b]Webcams and affordable digital cameras[b] - to send ourselves all over the world, as we are, to create, to make films and videos and so many things I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of things here and I'll keep getting ideas and flashbacks for weeks now :P

I think i heard that in China 100s of new fish species were found. Also, new airplanes have been invented that are run with vegetable oil. both inventions and discoveries are of interest to me.
