For the past one week, many members here from mylot posted a discussion to a best review site that pays one dollar for every review and two dollars if you are the first reviewer in the product. Since I want to earn money, I grab the opportunity of joining the site. At first I was really very happy because in one day, i was able to earn their minimum pay out, which is $20. One time, a member of the site posted a discussion about the paypal issues in the site. Secondly, they have decreased all our earnings. and today, they temporarily not allow to write a review. what happen? i am becoming inpatient, what about you?

Review Ratings Payment Cancelled, Sorry posted on 1/2/2009 Description: Unfortunately the spammers have taken advantage of the bounty payment we offered for rating reviews. There are some users who have rated over 5,000 reviews and it is quite obvious that there was no attempt to actually rate the review properly. As a result we have been forced to cancel the Review Rating payment.... Paypal Email problem posted on 1/2/2009 There is a bug in our Payment Request module. When you submit your payment request it double reports the email address that you requested payment too. Don’t worry, it should work fine.... (copied from the comparedby.us website) It seems to me that they are watching out for the interests of the honest reviewers, unlike other sites who allow scammers to work the system as some apparently did here (5000 review ratings?? Right!!!) They don't want to pay thieves like this, but want to have honest reviewers and raters. But, because of the scammers, the honest raters lost. However, it doesn't say that the reviews themselves would not be paid. Just that a problem has crashed the server. They are new and the bugs have to be worked out (do you not remember all the Windows and AOL releases that keep having to be tweaked?) It actually sounds like they want to keep the cheaters out of the picture and that they are trying to figure out how to do that. I hope they do - it would be nice to see rather than seeing things like on Ciao where all they did was copy reviews from other sites to post there (often translating into English from another language knowing the English wouldn't be found in a search - yes, I found them through mistakes they made in pasting the translation). Why should those of us who are honest have to always lose out to those who simply don't give a damm? I'd like to see if they can pull off a clean fix on this site.

I've only been a member for 2 days and I can tell you that they did not "cook up" stories about spammers - it's very obvious on the site that many people abuse the system by copying reviews, writing nonsense or one-liners, and yes, those reviews written in horrible english (please, if a person can't even put together a cohesive review in english, he/he really should not be writing on an ENGLISH review site) to earn a quick buck. I'd post some really good examples, but I've been warned by other mylot members that this is not allowed. While I'm sad that they have disabled it for the weekend, reacting this way - being "impatient" and acting all indignant as if comparedbyus owes us anything, just shows how greedy some people can be. In fact, it is us, the reviewers, who owe THEM, for giving people money. After what happened with Ciao, it's just difficult for me to hide my disgust at some of the people who cheat honest sites.

ok mariab,i agree to what you say,but in the first place why did they allow the copied reviews, etc.why not a system of a review not getting published till approved by their board.why did they allow rating system at will, why not some time gap between two ratings or instead of that some comment and that too without being moderated not being published.many people and sites do that, then why coudnt they do?why should honest people suffer due to abusing of system by few people.they could have flushed up the site had they wanted why did they allow all to suffer.

I wouldn't say they allowed the copied reviews as much as they thought people wouldn't abuse the system - it's rather naive of them, yes, but perhaps they were counting on the honesty of people. And as for a review system where you have to wait, again they didn't anticipate that there would be 10,000 reviews in one week! They probably have a small editorial team that reads the reviews, and couldn't possibly handle that. And waiting for your review to get published? I know one site that does that and it's called reviewstream - I actually do reviews for this site and they are very strict with their requirements. the reason that the site has been around for so long (in internet time, anyway) is that they take their time to read your review and check if you plagiarized it. But then, a lot of mylotters complain about them because it takes them "too long" for the money to show up. So what do people want anyway? A site that will give you a quick buck now, but won't be around for long, or a site that takes time but can earn you money in the long run? Some people just don't think in terms of the long term, which is why great sites like Ciao and Comparedby.us don't stick around too long.

Well my earnings are still fine so far there, and from their blog it says check back after the weekend and so I will do so to check back and see. Well, I think it's good that they still communicate with us and keep us informed of what they are doing. Better than totally disappearance. I will just be patient and see how things go there.

I am also a little worried about my earning in this website as I have worked hard for it. And I don't understand why my earning will become to be "minus". It doesn't make a sense. For example, my earning is about USD197 and last night I wrote a review and I earned USD3. But the earning becomes to be -194 and I don't know what's wrong. Hopefully this will be a honest website. I love China

Hello rberon1985 I knew that today. I'm really sad because my earnings are decrease by $6. I read their forum, they said that their servers having problems. I dont know if it is true. The admin also said that they temporarily disabling writing a review for weekends. Hope they got back it on Monday. They also said that rating a review of others are not so trusty. The members vote and vote without really reading the reviews. I hope it will fix up on Mondays.
