Do you remember your first time in a chat room?

i have never been into the chat rooms and i dont know what it is like there, i dont like to talk to strangers as well, so i have never been eager to try it out. I find it waste of time to talk uselessly, i chat only with the people i know and who are good friends of mine.

I don't remember because i have a very bad memory i think i first chatted on yahoo rooms but now yahoo rooms have become a hub for spammers as soon i join the room i am getting many links i don't know they are virus or not and what for they are sending me those links

No. I just can't recall. But I can recall my first day of accessing internet. It was from a Cyber cafe, and the connection speed was awfully slow. I could not download even my Yahoo homepage after an hours of struggle.

Yes. I remember. When I started to use internet in 1999, Ithe dial-up connections were too slow and it used to take a lot of time for the websites to open. The person in the cyber cafe said me to try mIRC chat during the time taken for the web pages to load. I had heard a lot about chatting from my friends. I logged in using a nickname (male) and no one (gal) responded. So simply to test, I changed the nickname to gal's name and I got almost 100 requests to chat. Just remember the starting lines: Hi.. asl plz.. ctc.. m/f ? loc? etc etc etc.

Yes I do remember every single bit of it, mainly because it was not that long ago when I entered a chat room for the first time. It was on myspace and I chatted with Leena, a Punjaban currently living in UK and it was all fun there.

I sorta remember I went into the group and they were all so very nice to me, I became friends that very evening with two people there and I stayed friends with them for many years.

oh yes, I was also very young. I thought it was so cool. People that didn't know you. I could say anything I wanted too! I use to think chatting was so much fun! Now I think chatting is very boring. every once in a while I will go into a room just to see how things have changed and there are times I wont say a word. Conversations just are not any fun anymore. When I was young I would say anything just to say something. Now I don't. I have always been a not so talkative person, but on chat I would talk away. Now, I don't really say anything unless I have something to say. I guess being more mature has something to do with it. I think a lot of chat that goes on is very childish and being in a room makes me feel old.
