There are a lot of reasons why people get nervous. We get nervous when we are excited or when are expecting something to happen. When your nerves gets too sensitive with external and internal stimuli you easily get nervous. My daughter easily gets nervous with new environment, new people and situations. Even I am an adult I easily get nervous but I don't show it to my kid as much as possible. What makes you nervous?

Mostly time,if I feel like I don't have enough time for something important that has to be done I tend to get nervous. And yeah,I don't like tagging along to a strange party where I don't know anybody so I do this very seldom

I see, yes being time conscious sometimes would make us nervous. Me too, I get easily nervous in some strange parties. Sometimes I would wish that I was not there. Parties are one of the places I feel nervous because a lot of unfamiliar faces can be seen there.

I feel at my friends' parties but I try to avoid the strange ones. However,it's hard to do that without seeming rude

New things make me nervous. Being around new people and in new situations really makes me feel really bad. Whenever I start a new semester in school and have to attend all new classes, it really makes me nervous. I find it hard to sleep and eat and I get pretty paranoid. Tests also make me nervous.

Yes, new things always make us nervous. Most people have the same feeling with that kind of situation. I think it is but natural and human instict for people to feel this way. A lot of things can make us nervous but once we get used to it we will be better. All we need is a matter of time and exposure.

I am most nervous in situations when I know I am going to be judged and evaluated (and possibly compared to others) by another person, especially if the person doing the judging is someone who doesn't know me. Examples of this include auditions, exams/tests, and the like. Whereas most people see these evaluative sort of things as a reflection of "where they're strong and what they need to work on," with me it was rather a reflection of "how much or how little did my emotions get the best of me?" I just care too much about what other people think. I know I shouldn't, but I do...

We get too excited when judged or evaluated. I think it is but natural. I get evaluated through classroom observations. It is not an easy task but we have to show our best that we can be who we claim we are. I was interviewed once before I got the job and my nervousness made me cry in front of the evaluators. They were all wondering why I was crying and I couldn't even understand myself.

Yes, joining a contest would not be easy. It is in being able to overcome this that we become confident of who we really are. Once we have confidence then all these will be easy for us to face. The consequence will not be ash hard anymore. Excitement and nervous are I think synonyms.;-)
