Do you clean out the keyboards when using someone else's computer?

By this, I don't mean pulling out some alchol wipes and wiping down each key. No, this is a simple task that unless you get creeped out by weird things, then don't do it. I started doing this because I worked at a telemarketing place. The other person who normally sat at the computer was African American and used lots of wax. Gross thing about that is it melted from his hands and dripped into the spaces between the keys on his board. When I was there, I saw clumps and clumps of wax. When I turned the keyboard upside down and gave it a gentle shake, all that waxy build up, eyelashes, boogers, fingernail clippings and God knows what else landed on the desk. When I saw that...I was so disgusted that to this day, I always shake out the keyboards...even if it's mine. *Pleiades

Yeah... most times I too find myself cleaning keyboards and mouse. I don't like to see dirty things around me. The only other computer I use(that is not mine) is any of the hundreds of computers in my college. Whenever I go for my practicals to the lab, I start arranging the table top or cleaning things.....

Yup...people like us makes up for all the slobs out there in the world. But, think about this: if they leave a public area as dirty as that, what would their homes look like? Eeewwwww *Pleiades

No... people are very narrow minded it seems. They think "it not mine... so why should I bother about how clean it is". So they do not mind littering in college or not maintaining cleanliness. But they do not do it at their homes because thats "Mine".....

Springs, it's not only a habit, it's a ritual. Yuck...try it out next time you're at a public computer and see what falls out. I even did it to my father's keyboard and so much crumbs fell out... *Pleiades
