Stocks or bonds, which one is better?

I want make a investment. To do so, I have open account in optionxpress, but there are several choices for me. I don't know I should invest bonds or stocks. I am not familiar with these stuff. hi dozhou, Stocks or bonds depends what kind of guy you are and what is your risk aptitude. If you like safety but lesser return , returns enough just to beat inflation then go for bonds but if you want good returns and ready to take risk then go for stocks. As far as i am concerned i would always prefer stocks over bonds, but choose stocks carefully and then decide how much greedy i am at time of buying stock and i would sell the stock when ever my target is reached and not wait for it to go up further as from experience i have learnt stock market pays to greedy person but not over greedy ones.
