Another year of NFL MVP's team not winning the superbowl

With the Colts elimination, Peyton Manning just added to the list of NFL MVPs not winning the superbowl(3 times he has won, 3 times he did not win the Lombardi). I'm not sure but I think Kurt Warner was the last regular season MVP and his team went on to win the SB. Do you think there's some sort of curse to this?

MVP is bad luck for him.

So is the number 1 seed. They always lost in the playoffs when they are the number 1 seed.

I just think they should wait until the season is completely over before they announce the MVP. Other sports wait until after it is all over before they decide who the most valuable player is. I don't know why they decide who the MVP in pro football is before they even start the playoffs. I don't think it is a curse, just a premature announcement.

I have to agree with you maggie. It never made sense to me why they would do that before the season was officially over. If they must make that announcement, at least wait until the SB is happening. DCMerkle

I think Favre won the MVP the year they won the Super Bowl but that was before Warner. I am not exactly sure how the colts lost that game tonight. San Diego has one guy that catches passes, Gates, and LT is hurt. Plus the Chargers have one of the worst pass defenses in the league. I think San Diego might be able to beat the Titans much more than I think they could go to Pittsburgh in the cold and win. Either way Peyton is out again. Wouldn't it be funny if Eli finishes his career with more Super Bowl wins then Peyton?

One reason the Colts lost was because of their one dimensional offense, the running game was virtually not existent, and they even tried an end around with their tight end Dallas Clark. Another reason is the excellent play of the Bolts punter Mike Scifres, literally pinning Manning and his offense deep in their own territory. Just another one and done season for Peyton, howell he can do great things in the REGULAR season again next year.
