Is the xbox 720 a rumor or is it true?

I'm wondering if xbox 720 is true if it is when is it coming out? I saw a picture of the 720 it was a big circle ball with an x on it, I think it could be fake but I'm not sure any more cuz I hear it was a pix from the xbox offical website. So I'm just wondering if it is true and when it is coming out?
