What makes a winner, the Driver or the Car?

I know it's a balance of both, but if you are to choose only one for a fantasy formula 1 team, would you have a great driver in a competitive car, or an ok driver inside a great car?

For me, it's both the Driver and the Car. 'Coz it's like working as a TEAM.

We all know it's both, but if you are made to chose one or the other, would you have a team where your Ferrari driven by Heidfeld or would you have a team where Alonso is driving your BMW Sauber?

i wud say a driver makes a winner, although, car is required but one needs skills and more than that an attitude, attitude to win, never to back out, never to give up.

i would surely vote for the driver.A driver makes the car company popular.Michael schumacher created history which lead to the recognition of ferrari brand,the famous car all over the world.It merely depends on the driver.we should remember the fact the at certain cases,the same brand of car is run by several drivers.That does not mean all those drivers of the same car won the title.So if drivers are bets,the car is also best

hi, i would go for the driver...because he drives the car...it might be any car, its the driver s responsibilty to finish the race...some unexpected faults might occur in the car during race, that we have to blame the team..if the mistake was done by the driver then its a mistake of the driver and he has to claim responsibilty...but finally i would go for the driver who wins the race...thanx...nice topic..happy mylotting..

To me it's gonna be "right man with the right tools in the right place". All drivers in F1 teams are great drivers, they have the skills, the attitude, the psychology win a race. But even if you're a great driver, but you've got a bad environment ( as Fernando Alonso had with the Silver Arrow ) or a bad tool ( like Kimi Raikonen with his broken ferrari ), all you can win is just the race, not the championship. Just my 2 pence.

I think it is mostly the car that makes the winner since a struggling car like the ones that the Foce India have has the best driver Giancarlo Fisichella but unfortunately they have not been able to score a single point in the 2008 season and have changed their partnership with Mercedes-Mclaren from the good old Ferrari and in a interview Giancarlo Fischichella told that its the car that made them struggle throughout the season..so the the car is only the thing that makes the winner more than the driver... i also think it is hard to say which one is more important. A winner has to be a good driver who has a good car.

I will choose a great driver in a competitive car. Both qualities are needed to winning the championship. They are like a bond. Great driver without a good car, can't win and it goes otherwise. I looking forward to 2009 season. WIth new car and specifictaion, many thing can happen. Happy Mylotting

Hi to all.......... Well, I think both the car and skill of the driver is essential to win a formula one race.......... If you ask me to choose one of the two you mentioned, then i would choose an ok driver inside a great car.......... Because in formula one, the car is more important than skill of the driver........ If you put a great like Michael Schumacer in a Honda or Force India car, he would not even score a single point.......... You see drivers like Fellipe Massa and Heikki Kovalainen......... They were struggling to score points before they joined Ferrari and Mclaren.......... Now, they are easily scoring points and winning some races too............. So, I choose an ok driver inside a great car.......... HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY MYLOTTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

different people will have different opinion on this. Actually, for me it is very difficult to chose one. so, for me it is both. good car is equally important to good driver. for example, see what happened to Alonso last season. he is a good driver but his car isnt good. in my view, great driver is a person who adapt to different conditions soon and who finds out way to become victorious. ex: shumi. people may beat his records but no one can drive like him. king of the track.

I would say both. But some time a great car makes allot a difference and give a much easier task for the driver. Those day before all the rule change, what make a driver a champion is the car n the team. Today Formula1 rules have changes so much that driver skill is what it takes to make it to the top.

i would choose a great driver in a competitive car. Coz for me, the driver makes the car great [; that's my opinion though. What's in the great car if the drive in it isnt that great? it would be a total points [;
