Next weekend, I want to surprise my husbnad by having a movie night on the weekedns. I think this is a great idea, b/c it will save us money, and we just had a new baby, and I don't see myself bringing her into a movie theater yet. I'm going to have snacks like popcorn, chips, candy, soda... We have comcast, and it has a lot of free movies already. Does anyone else do this??

howdy, we do movie nights also in our home, sometimes.. we even do a movie-marathon during the school holidays.. normally watching the movies we missed at the theaters.. the latest we watched was - 'Journey to the centre of the Earth'.. but eventhough we call it 'movie-night at home' - i'd never prepare any snacks.. because food is strictly not allowed into the living area, where our tv is.. my husband and i only allow the family to eat + drink at the dining area.. so even if i do fix something.. we'll only eat it before or after we start the movie.. .. watching movie at home is definitely a good idea.. because we get enjoy at our own comfort.. lying on the sofa, etc.. my younger kids can make noise or go play with their toys when they get bored with the movie.. and it definitely saves a load of money for us.. buying tickets + the snacks for 7 people.. can really cost a fortune..

We do movie nights at home with our kids. We haven't done it lately because of money issues but we'd like to start back up again. Our movie place has like two rows of free movies for the kids. So we let them each pick a movie and then we pick some adult ones for us. If there is a new release family movie then we get that. Then we get something like pizza for supper. We eat, make some popcorn and all crawl up together and watch a movie. Then when they go to bed we watch our movie.

Hi! sounds like fun. yes, we do the same. I have 4 kids an just had my youngest 11 weeks ago so I don't feel like going to a movie theatre either, lol. we also have the comcast so we watch a lot of the On Demand movies. it's also really nice because there is a section of shows that are for babies for learning and stuff. and having just had a baby it's also nice because the on demand has fitness channels. I love that! we have a lot of fun with it. it's hard to get bored when there's such a big selection and they update them monthly I believe.
