Anyone else have a preemie?

I had gave birth last 2004, with 6lbs baby girl..I gave birth in a maternity clinic, it has less payment because that clinic is from missionaries around the world. The way they care is perfect..

I had two preemies, one 7.5 years ago and one 14 months ago. Both were about 4 pounds at birth and both were almost exactly 6 weeks 1 day early. I guess my body is just timed so that 33.5 weeks gestation is just right. Both my kids are doing great now and the little one still has a bit of catching up to do but I know he will. I spent 2 weeks in NICU with both of them and although it was very hard, it was actually an amazing experience to me.

i have friends who had premature babies. these children would be teenagers now and they have come on brilliant. they are as tall as any other child , no health problems. one of them was only 1lb 10 oz. she is 16 now and bigger than her mother.

My daughter was born at 27 weeks. I had an emerbency c-section. she was born weighing 2 pounds 2 ounces and was 14 cm long. she was in the NICU for exactly 2 months. she is 3 years old now and doing good.

My little boy was born at 30+2 weeks due to spontaneous labour/possibly an incompetent cervix. He weighed 4 lbs and was in Nicu/Scbu for 29 days before coming home with us. He had no major problems. He is now almost 3 and such a joy to have around. Those lil ones all are little miracles

My daughter was 7 weeks premature. She was 4lbs 9oz. I went to the ER because I had this feeling that something wasn't quite right with my baby girl. She was in distress and was delivered by C-section. Then she was airlifted to another hospital. When she was about 12 hours old she went into surgery. During the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy with her the upper 2 arteries (there's 3) that supply the small intestine with blood, had somehow stopped suppling blood. She ended up losing 70% of her small intestine. The doctors said if I hadn't gone in when I did she wouldn't have made it to my next pre-natal appt the next week. She's 3 months 6 days old now & we are hoping she'll be well enough to come home soon. So far she's doing well, she's had 3 surgeries so far & is eating from a bottle. :)

I have a preemie myself. She was born 2 months early and weighed 3 lbs. 6.4 ounces. She was also 16 1/2 inches long. When she decided to come, I had called the ambulance at 8pm. The ambulance took about 5 minutes to arrive. I had called my mom and told her the baby was coming. She was keeping my 2 year old at the time, thank god! The ambulance loaded me up and took my vitals. Then we were on our way. In my town we have trains all the time. We got stopped at a train, and I ended up having her IN the ambulance. She was born at 8:35pm. She was in a hurry to be born. They didn't cut the cord until we were in the hospital. All they did was just clip it. They immediately too her to the NICU. I didn't get to see her until the following day. She was so tiny! She stayed for 3 weeks in the NICU. The reason her stay was so small, was because I had gone in a few days before with major contractions. They had given me 2 shots to help her lungs mature. She was 4 lbs. 9 ounces when she came home. She has caught up weigh wise, but still needs to develop mentally a bit more.

I had a son born at 31 weeks weighing 1353g We spent 5 weeks in icu and special care. He came home 4 weeks before he was due. He turned one on the 19th dec. And is starting to walk and weighs just under 10kg
