Are PTC's shortlived?

Do you think that the concept of PTC's is shortlived? Especially in the bad econoomy, I think it will be harder for PTC sites to find advertisers. I think it is a short-lived Internet marketing trend. I think GPT's are also shortlived. What do you think? Are they good for the long-term, or should we expect this form of internet income to die out soon?
