Some say going diaperless helps them to realize the event.

my son was really hard to potty train. i still dont know how i got through it. after getting the concept down, i had to take him to the bathroom, literally, once an hour, just to catch him before he went in his pants. each time he went pee, he got a potty treat. i kept a bowl with little candies just for his treats, that way he knew they were "special potty treats" just for him. we tried the potty chair, it worked for about 2 weeks. i even got one called the kings throne or something like that. everytime he peed, it would start playing music like du-du-da. he thought that was neat, for a minute. i would say persistence, persistence, persistence. just keep taking him all the time until he can know the feeling of needing to go and starts to do it on a regular basis. good luck, and if you have as hard a time as i did, you may need to get some "special treats" just for you, lol.

My oldest son wanted a ride on hummer. I put a picture of the hummer on the bathroom door. I told him for everytime he went pee he got so much money. If he went poop he got more. When he had saved up enough money to fill the jar, I told him I would get it for him. It worked great. BUT my middle son, who is now 2 is not an easy kid to bribe. He was doing really good and then one day just stopped. I can't seem to get him back in the potty anymore. I've been trying to leave him alone about it and mention it once in a while so he thinks it's his idea but since I just had another baby I'm not doing good at being very consistant and I think he's having issues losing his place as baby. He loves hie brother and wants to hold him all the time but I think he still has some issues and just isnt ready to potty train. Good Luck on the potty training

When I was potty training my son, I would float cheerios in the potty, and he could play a game where he tried to pee on them. I suppose it wasn't the best for the septic system, but he sure enjoyed it, and wanted to "play" all the time!
