HI TO ALL MYLOTTERS Christ says clearly in bible that u must not kill, means not kill anything which has life, but why the new translation says "thou shall not murder", means not to kill humans it is very clear tht he said "thou shall not kill" because he loved each and every life and all the life is creations of god i think this translation is only for someones comefortability to kill animals for food and for taste wht do u all think????

God was referring to people when he said not to kill. The Bible clearly list out all the animals we are allowed to ear and which ones we can not eat. In the beginning before the flood, we were not supposed to eat meat but after the great flood God allowed us to eat meat.

I did some googling and this is what I found Romans 14:2-3, "One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The mans who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him." (1 Tim 4:1-4 KJV) "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:"

According to the bible he refers not to kill human beings not animals or fish etc, he had created everything for man to enjoy, fishes were living beings, he only blessed the fish and bread and multiplied and gave all his disciples, so killing and murdering is only for humans not to kill each other and live a life filled without anger, Nancy

tht is the words given by some people for misleading the words. he did said it clearly tht not to kill he had created humans as vegeterians only to eat the fruis of eden garden a lion is created as flesh eaters so they are not coming to eat our fruits,y we humans are trying to eat their food so how we can say killing a animal is not sin?????

No humans are OMNIVORES, our digestive systems were meant to handle all sources of food. If God did not want us to eat meat, our bodies would not be able to digest it. There are a number of speciies of animals thatare herbivores and can only digest plants. And by the way many plants may have feelings also. Many respond to music and being spoken to by flourishing better.

Taken literally "thou shall not kill" would also apply to plants since they're also alive. There would then be nothing left for us to eat & we'd all starve & die. Yea... that works for me, mass extinction due to fanatical religious belief. So how does the gravel taste this morning?

I think only the Jewish desert thugs who wrote what we now call the Bible will be able to tell us what the God they created actually meant. In truth, the biblical God has not specified anything. He only said "Thou shalt not kill." Now, much later, the son of this bibilical God is believed to have shown a lot of animals to Peter the apostle in a vision and told him to eat them. So, I guess the Christians don't consider killing of animals to be "killing" at all, so long as they eat what they kill. Otherwise, so many sheep, pigs, turkey, geese, and other animals won't die on Christmas and Easter. ;) It all depends on how they interpret it for their convenience. Cheers and happy Mylotting

In the Bible God told his people to sacrifice a lamb and paint the doors of their houses with blood. that is what passover was. Clearly there would be killing involved there. God put the animals on the earth for man's needs, including food. One shouldn't senselessly kill animals for sport or fun but to eat and survive I think it is ok.

if there is not any other food and for survive we can hav the animals killed for food as survival is the neccesary of all life forms

I think this change came about for a much more terrible reason, I think that war had started to bother more and more Christians. I have heard this new interpretation used to excuse war. And since Jesus came from a people well acquainted with war, I think he meant killing period. NO WAR ALLOWED
