....for my gastric bypass surgery (actually the one year anniversary is on January 31...but who's counting? LOL). And it went really well. I've lost a total of 105 pounds since the surgery, with a full total of 122 lbs lost since summer 2007. Wooohoooo! All of my blood work was fine, except for whatever reason my Vitamin D levels were high. Go figure since when I had them checked a couple of months ago they were just fine. So now I'm off the Vitamin D yet again. Now hopefully soon I will get my referral to have the loose skin removed from my tummy. That will be so nice to have a flat stomach (even though I'll still have the baggy saggy legs and arms for a while...but that I think I can live with LOL). I feel great, and I think I'm looking a whole lot better than I used to. Good luck to anyone that is contemplating the surgery, and congrats to everyone that has. And thank you so much to all of my wonderfully awesome friends here that have shown me so much love, kindness and support through all of this. You're all very special to me. I am so sorry to hear about your health problems, Feona. I do hope they can figure out what the problem is, and get it corrected. Sorry, but I can't remember the details of what other issues you've had. You mentioned 'your surgeon.' Have you already had surgery for this type of thing? Hope you don't mind my asking.

Awwwwwww....
I am always here for you... there is something wrong with my intestines on my left lower side...not sure if I will have to go back to my surgeon or not......I am constantly having pain there and they did a Cat Scan and there is some trouble in that area..My doctor says if I feel nausea then let him know...well I haven't had any nausea but am super tired and in constant pain...so that can't be normal..
Have an appt. this morning and I am going to tell him I want more tests....I had an MRI yesterday for my back..my right leg from the knee down is still numb..over 10 weeks now...not good...

hi katlady I am so glad that you have had good results from your surgery. i have known a number of people who have had the surgery and some of them have had good results and others not so good. Have a great day

Way to Go Katlady2 -- I celebrate your great accomplishment with you! How wonderful you must feel not only physically but emotionally. I have 100 pounds to lose and my husband I have touched a bit on surgery, but I have talked to my doctor yet, we have been thinking a tummy band program, maybe. In the mean time I am doing the old fashioned thing, diet, exercise, posiive thinking, praying etc.

Thanks hon. It's definitely a decision that isn't to be made lightly, that's for sure. I had the full Rouxen-Y procedure done instead of the lap band. Just make sure you check out all the options and all of the details of any of the procedures. That's what I did. At any rate, you're taking the right positive steps that you need to. Kudos to you as well hon for being persistent. I'm praying for your success too! Thanks again and good luck to you.

This post sent shock waves through my body. I can not believe it's been a year!!! Where did it go??? Congratulations on the weight loss. I would love nothing more for myself but I'm way too scared to have surgery. I hate that about me.

This is such awesome and amazing news...you've lost nearly 10 stone!!!! That must feel incredible in all sorts of ways. I'm so pleased for you and so proud of you for going through it all and doing it right. Thanks so much for bringing us up to date.

Thanks so much hon. Surgery isn't an option everyone can take that's for sure. As for photos, check out my pics in my profile. There are two labeled 'Me' and one labeled 'Me and Gator'. The two labeled Me are before the surgery, and the one labeled Me and Gator is from a few weeks ago.

Hi...just wanted to get back to you on your response...
I had the same surgery as Katlady...
I had mine done in 2005 and have lost 180 pounds...
The reason I talk about my surgeon is if I have to have any other surgery in my abdominal area then they would want to do it...especially my intestines..

That is AWESOME!! Wow!! You Go Girl!! You Go Girl!! Doing the happy dance with you!! That has to be one heck of an accomplishment and a heck of a boost in your self esteem!! We all loved you before and we all love you now but are so glad to know that the chances of having you around a little bit longer is something for all of us to smile and dance about!!
