Couples should be realistic, adding a child does add expenses. And must also need to consider the time, the patience and their attention-all essentials that will have to be divided up among more than one child. So make a realistic assessment of how this will change your lives both now and in the future that follows..

Hello gagan187! I guess the perfect age difference between siblings could be 5 years or more. I came from a big family whose age difference are only for 1 - 2 years apart. It's ok but I guess it's better if we have a big age difference because we would each understand each other.

For me it would be five. Some people will say that this is not ok because the kid will be lonely. This will only happen if you dont take him out or bring him to playgrounds and stuff.. I like five so my husband and I can focus more on our kid and there will be no feeling of favoritism. As this kid goes older he/she will be protective of the younger one.

It really depends on how you would like to bring up your kids. A 2 to 3 years difference is nice coz they could grow up together plus you can avoid spoilding both of them. Having a gap of 5 years or more can also work because the older 1 can be like a role model for the younger one. Any age differene has its pros and cons. It really depends on how you would bring up the kids...

I think age difference does not matter too much, I have two sons, their age difference is 12 but they are close and love each other to bits. My brother has two children, the boy is six and the girl is three. They are also very close and but they fight a lot. IN my family we were five siblings, with about 2-3 years apart. What happenend was that the oldest was close to the thist child, the second child closest to the fourth, the last child was the darling of everyone except the fourth child. so big or small age gap, i dont know.

For me I want their age gap to be 3 to 4 years so that taking care of them both won't be that difficult.

I would say two years. That way they can play together and they would learn to share. When I had my first child in the beginning I wanted to wait a long time before another time. Well I changed my mind because I felt that she was so lonely!

For me, a year difference would be nice. So that they could be like bestfriends, so that it'll be easy for the two of them to relate to each other. Cause sometimes, when the eldest one is too old, its hard for the younger one to understand that sibling.
