Do you add the letter "t" to the end of some of your words?

My husband does this and it totally annoys me. He doesn't say "across" he says "acrost". I know there are other words that a lot of people do this to and when I hear that added "t" at the end of a word when it doesn't belong, I just cringe...
I used to add an "s" to "anyway" until I found out that wasn't right. I still will say "anyways" sometimes, but I try not to.
What words do you hear butchered all the time that just get under your skin?
Oh, and I don't mean if this is someones second language, it's hard enough sometimes to learn a second language.

reiny I use to say excape instead of escape. I hate it when people ax instead of ask for something.
There other words I butcher because I simply cannot say them. I do not remember right now.

We do get a lot of "ax-ing" around here too. I've grown up hearing that a lot so I kinda tune it out any more. It's mostly uneducated people that use it, though.

I have heard this and it bathers me to no end and I thought of it after I posted the first response. It is when people do not say the ing to a word they just say the in,
like fixin, goin, doin, that sort of thing

Hi reiny! There are alot of words that people say that are
not exactly correct. I have never heard anyone add the letter
"t" to words. That is a new one to me! As for "anyways", even
though it isn't correct alot of people do say it that way. I
know that I say it sometimes and English was one of my best
subjects even in college! It's just a word that sounds right!
Now my boyfriend can butcher alot of words! He kept saying
"worser" all the time! That drove me insane! I would correct
him over and over! And still he would say it wrong! And just
last night he said "worse" to me on the phone! Well, it was
like a little kid finally getting something right! I screamed!
I said you said "worse" without my telling you to! He said,
"I did" "Are you sure"? He didn't even believe it! So I do
know what it's like living with someone who can kill the
English language who was born here!

I just hate when I hear some people say Am-ba-lance. It is Ambulance, I don't know why some people mispronounce this word.

That's funny because people used to make fun of me when I would pronounce it Am bu lance, and I always looked at them funny. Then I realized they were saying it wrong!

That's mainly the one word that bothers me the most (acrost) when I hear someone saying it. Don't you just want to correct them?, lol!
I'm sure I have used the wrong language somewhere down the line so I try not to let it bother me that much. Now that I'm getting older too I find myself looking up words in the dictionary that I use to spell all the time,..now it's like, is that spelled with an e or a??, or is it ley or ly??, haha.
Here's a couple more mispronounced one's I've heard.
Libary
Phantom instead of Fathom
Intendo instead of Nintendo
Take care....hope I did those right, haha.

I'm a real stickler for grammar sometimes so it tends to bother me more than others. My husband really didn't learn this stuff - he was too busy with sports! - so it does kinda get on my nerves a lot. He gets pretty aggrivated when I correct him to, not realizing I'm trying to help him not look like such an idiot in the real world. He thinks I do it to prove that I'm better than he is because I'm smarter....
