our christmas gift to each other--items that we both like

my husband and i got married last 2007. so 2008 was already our second christmas together.
for our first christmas, we got a car on installment. we considered it as a gift to each other. this year, we got a laptop on installment again. we are almost done with our car payments, so we are happy to be able to afford this gadget. we will be paying it off with my online earnings. cool huh?
anyway, do you also this? like get a big item and consider that as a gift to each other? or do you like, buy personal gifts and surprise each other?
well, we are very happy with what we did. we no longer needed to get each other a token gift or anything.
what do you think? i will appreciate all your responses.

I think that it is a good idea. My boyfriend and I were going to get a big screen tv together this year. I think that it is a good thing to buy big things for each other on Christmas and then buy personal gifts on birthdays.

good idea...hmmm...honestly, it is hard to get him presents and vice versa unless agreed because we go out together most of the time. lol

As for me, I always buy personal gifts. In fact, sometimes I don't have a special occasion to give my husband a gift. Always caught him by surprise but lucky that he likes most of my gifts.

wow..that is a great idea! It is more practical since you are both using and enjoying to use it!

Well, i think that is a great way to celebrate christmas... getting something for the whole family... that both of you will enjoy... that is more practical... and i think a lot more advisable since the world is currently experiencing this economic crisis... we all need to be smart when it comes to handling our finances...
