Now a days the use of computer is increasing like anything. Many people are attracted by this field. I have seen people flurishing in this field. However, some friends told me that now the field of computer programming is not offering the same charm. The work to be done is too much compared to the rewards being offered in this field. If at all this is true? If it is not true, someone wants to make career in computer programming then from where one should start?

Thanks for the response. I understand that you must be hopeful to get a good job when you complete your learning of programming languages. Are you learning all these languages together?

Hey deserve40, To begin with, let me inform you that success in the field of Computer programming will continue to stay till the time all computer related problems are solved, WHICH IS NEVER:-) I am also a part of the IT industry and I believe nothing can stop you from getting to the top with computer programming. Its just that you should be that damn good in understanding LOGIC behind things happening in our daily lives. You can begin with reading books on a programming language called C++. This is where I began and now I program tools for the University of Wollongong in Dubai (where I am pursuing my Masters in IT Management). Follow this up with another language, Java. Take this knowledge and join a firm as a trainee with your gained knowledge. This is your stepping stone to the field of computer programming. Take care

Thanks a lot for the advise chetangb. Just few more questions: Can I learn C++ without learning C ? Learning through internet is okay or I need to go to someone to learn personally?

you can always start reading....and learn any language that you want to.. but if you want good basics, I'd suggest you to learn C first. i am a computer science engineering graduate...and take my word, whether you want to learn through books or online, your basics should be strong.....and as chetangb mentioned, understanding the logic is the most important part. there a lot of sites online that provide you with good content....research for the sites and stick to one or two good ones. don't waste your time looking around all the sites. and it is always advisable to have a good book handy..... ....Good Luck

Absolutely,I agree with chetan. If you have passion for programming, jump into it,dont worry about the job and money. It is an industry and right now its still has a lot to do.And defenetely for the next 30 - 40 years it continues to grow.Probably at the time, the nanotechnology gets in..like IT is right now.

Computer programming still has many charmful offers but the rate at which the no. of programmers are arising, the industry doesn't have so much vacancy and hence obviously its experiencing the obvious saturation like every other field and so now its only talent that can give success to a computer programmer but not lack man power which was the case earlier. After the case of Satyam its going to be more difficult. Have a nice day!
