Automatic car starter Question...

For anyone who has one of these most convienient modern inventions (I want and need one !!!) I thought of something today....once you have activated the remotes starter and your car has warmed up and you get into it (and this might sound like an ignorant question)
Do you just drive it with no key in the ignition?
And how do you shut the thing off once you get to where you are going without the key in the ignition?
