I think it a pity that the fast pace has deprived of our younger generation from enjoying the rich literature masterpieces. Three novels i read at teenages are still my favorates. They are "Gadfly". "Wuthering Heights" and "John Christopher". They are very well translated into Chinese, which is not always the case.

I agree with you.So I try my best to arrange enough time to read classical literature.I hope I can get a peace attitude during the fast age. Thank you for your response.I have read the John Chritopher,so I'll read the Gadfly and Wuthering Heights if I can find these two books in our school's library. By the way, could you tell me the mean of the word "Wuthering" ?

Have you ever read "The Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum? Many people have seen and enjoyed the movie. It is actually a pretty good read as well. (I love classic children's literature myself). "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee is a great book as well.

For some reason, when it comes to "classical" literature, I tend to gravitate more towards kids' books but there are some terrific ones out there. The Chronicles of Narnia are fabulous and really quick reads. Alice in Wonderland is also a really good story. Some more "adult" classics that are really good are The Picture of Dorian Grey Wuthering Heights Beloved .....new "classic" - actually all of Toni Morrison's books are fantastic. A couple of them (including Beloved) are really sad but they are still really good books.

I really liked the book "Scarlett". This is the sequel to "Gone With the Wind". I also like most of the books written by Robin Cook (Coma, Mutation,Mortal Fear, etc.) Just don't read any Robin Cook books if you will have to go into the hospitol in the near future. You might decide not to go.
