Does it ever irritate you when...

you see a discussion about something pretty trivial or impersonal getting a TON of responses, when you think you're started an interesting dicussion which is practically being ignored? The trivial discussions I've started myself get more responses than the ones which could actually start interesting conversations or debates. Why do you suppose that is? I think it's because many people prefer quantity, and want to answer as many discussions as possible as quickly as they can, with little regard to whether they find the subject matter interesting or stimulating.

i dont get irritated with things like that. there are a lot of members here and we can not control what they want to response. i can say that i find it funny to see a discussion about what you eat with rice has 100+ responces but about children or parent care the responces is around 20. i find it funny but i dont get irritated. most people come here to unwind so they are more likely to response on easy discussion than getting them or giving a hard time to think on what to say regarding matters that need a lot of thinking. just my views

Nah, I have found that MyLot is cyclic in nature. Some days are hot and a trivial post will get a lot of replies. Other days it seems that nothing is getting responses. I just post because I like it here and have made some really good friends.

I used to be baffled by it maybe, but it doesn't really bother me. I think you get more responses when you have a lot of friends and you are just more social here on mylot.

Nothing bothers me on here any more As long as it's fun to do I carry on doing it regardless of whether I get few responses or not. I don't even start many discussions myself because there are so many to respond to of all types too. Some of the trivial ones go in the end therfore it's quality that counts - but how do you define quality here? That beats me sometimes

I think it depends on my mood. For the most part trivial discussions do sort of annoy me....but then there are times when I am after a specific goal, so the less-thought provoking discussions help me get there faster. I also have been guilty of the not-so-deep discussion, so I don't knock others for doing it. If I am having a deeper-than-thou day then I only respond to the more meaningful discussions.
